2015 Easy Back To School Nails: Cute Pink Pencil Nail Art Design

Back to school is just around the corner and what a better way to start classes than with the manicure shows off the most used  school tool; the pencil.  This fun and easy nail look will get you many compliments from your school mates and the best part is you can do it your self, and it doesn't require Any special tools or artistic skills!

Here's what all I used for this nail design:

Tape (preferably clear tape)
Sheer pink nail polish (Nicole by o.p.i-Blush of adrenaline)
Silver nail polish (Sally Hansen insta dry - 230 silver sweep)
Pink nail polish (Sally Hansen insta dry-fast fuchsia)
Black striper (L.A colors art deco-black )
➡ I also used acetone to clean around skin as well as base and top coat (Seche Vite)
1)Cut a small strip of tape and apply it to the nail near the cuticle area. The tape will serve as a stencil to get straight lines.
2) Paint with silver polish and remove tape.
3)After the silver has completely dried, cut another strip of tape and place it about 1/2 cm over the silver and paint over it with the pink polish. Don't remove the tape yet!
4)Using the black striper paint vertical lines over the pink. Remove the tape.
5)Repeat to all fingers except the ring finger. They should look like the top "eraser" parts of a pencil (a pink pencil :)

6)For the ring finger,  cut two small pieces of tape and place them on the nail forming a "V" shape.
7)At the tip, use the black striper and paint about 1/4 of the nail (starting from the tip). This will create the lead part of the pencil.
8) Next, use the pink polish, and this time paint 1/2 cmm away from the black and paint all the way to the cuticle area.Once dry, add another piece of tape horizontally so that only the pink is left exposed.
9)With the tape still on, use the black striper to draw vertical lines
10)Remove all pieces of tape and viola, you have a pencil! You can use a q-tip with acetone for clean ups around the nail and add your favorite top coat on all nails.

I hope you like this design and give it a try :) Also good luck in school!

Dolphin in waves nails

This gorgeous nail look was inspired by the beautiful waves of the sea and one of its most adorable creature; the dolphin. It is a great summer nail look that also features the ombré look which is trending right now!

This design may look very difficult  and time consuming but it really isn't!

These are the things I used:
Base color:
White nail polish (Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear- 300 White on ) I used white as the base color on all my nails. I like to do this so that the colors I use for sponging will show more vibrant.

For sponging (make sure the white base is completely dry before proceeding):
Cosmetic triangle shaped sponge
Mint nail polish ( Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear- 340 mint sorbet)
Blue nail polish (Sally Hansen insta dry- blue by!)
*I added a generous amount of the mint nail polish to the sponge and then applied the blue nail polish overlapping them on the center. I then sponged on to all my nails. You need to reapply paint after each finger.
Q-tips and acetone i used these to clean my fingers because nail polish will get on your fingers when sponging!

For the dolphin and waves nail art:
Konad stamper and scraper
Dolphin stamping design Image plate M-71
Waves stamping design bundle monster BM-216. I don't think this image is meant to be a wave. It is a French tip design but it just reminded me of waves so I thought I would use it as such.
Black stamping polish (Kleancolor black). I used this to stamp the dolphin image on the center of each of my finger after making sure that the gradient created through sponging was completely dry.
White stamping polish (konad white special polish). I used this to stamp the wave image on the tips of all my fingers.

Magnetic leopard/cheetah nails

I recently got my hands on some magnetic polishes. They've been around for a long time now, but I honestly didnt think they would work. I saw some at the store the other day on sale and decided to give hem a try. I got the brown and purple one.

I tried them as soon as I got home from the store. I was not  successful on my first try. My problem was that when I put the magnet over the nail, I would keep rotating the magnet thinking it would make a better effect on the nail. That didn't work!

For my second attempt I actually read the directions and it worked. I could clearly see the pattern created by the magnet and was so amazed!

I immediately fell in love with these magnetic polishes. They  look great on their own, but I just wanted to try something different. I thought that the effect resembled the color of a cheetah/leopard if I stamped the pattern over it. So I gave it a try and I loved it!

Here's what you'll need if you want to recreate this look:
Base and top coat (orly top 2 bottom)
Brown magnetic nail polish. (Sally Hansen magnetic polish (901 golden coconut). I have the polish a shake to "activate" the magnet in the polish and  I applied one coat and let it dry. I then applied a thicker, second coat and pit the magnetic cap over the nail. Make sure it doesn't touch the actual nail. Leave it for 10 seconds and remove. Viola! You'll be left with a gorgeous magnetic effect on your nails. I did this on all my nails
Stamper and scraper (konad)
Cheetah/leopard image plate (bundle monster m-221
Black stamping nail polish (Kleancolor black) I used this to stamp the cheetah design from the image plate on to ally nails.

➡I also used acetone to clean up exceeds polish on my skin, stamper, scraper and image plate.

🐳Cute summer mermaid nails

I love summer because being on school vacation means that I can stay home and watch movies all day long. Just recently, I re-watched Aquamarine after not having seen it for several years, and I was glad I came across it on the movie menu! Emma Roberts (who plays the mermaid) wears this beautiful mermaid tail, which is the inspiration for this nail look.
This design is very easy and  fast to do. It is a gorgeous, sparkling eye catching design that is perfect for the summertime, and you can easily recreate it yourself!

Here's what you'll need:
➡Base and top coat (I used orly top2bottom base and topcoat)
➡Blue polish (revlon colorstay-280 blue slate) I used this as the base color for a my nails.
➡Holographic blue/green polish (Sally Hansen HD-13 resolution. I used this color to create a gradient with the blue nail polish.
➡Q-tip. I used it to blend the blue and holographic polis together.

For the mermaid pattern I used:
➡Konad stamper and scraper
➡Bundle monster image plate 209- net design. It is a full image design that I stamped over the entire nail on all my nails
➡Black polish (Kleancolor -black) I used this to stamp the design in my nails.
➡Iridescent glitter (I got this at Walmart for like $2) this is what made the look more fun and mermaid like. After applying top coat I used my finger to pick up some glitter and transferring it to my nails)

➡I also used nail polish remover to clean excess nail polish on my skin, konad stamper and scraper, and stamping plate.

I really hope you like and try this nail design. It is so fun and sparkly!

Summer colorful cheetah/leopard nails using konad/bundle monster

Another fun summer nail art look I did was this very easy and colorful cheetah gradient design. Best part is, there was no sponging involved nor any special brushes!

For this nail look, I used:

For all nails but the ring finger I used the following polish and used a q-tip to blend the colors together and create a gradient effect. The colors here are warm toned.
➡Yellow nail polish
➡Orange nail polish
➡Pink nail polish

For the ring finger I used the following polishes and also used a quip to blend the colors together. The colors for the ring finger are cool toned.
➡Green nail polish
➡Light Blue nail polish
➡Dark blue nail polish

➡I also used nail polish remover to clean excess polish on nails and to clean my konad stamper, scraper, and image plate.

🍓Easy Cute Strawberry Nail Art Tutorial for short nails~ pink and red♥

During the summer, one of my favorite things to eat are fresh strawberries. They are so delicious and make a great treat. Thus, this nail design is all about strawberries. It is very easy to do and will make your fingers look delicious!

🍓For this easy summer nail look, I used only 7 items:
➡Red nail polish (Sally Hansen Diamond Strength 360 Diamonds and rubies
➡Pink nail polish (orly sterling silver rose)
➡Green nail polish (Kleancolor neon green)
➡Light green striper (art deco)
➡Top coat (Seche Vite)
➡Gold glitter
➡Toothpick

I applied the pink polish on all my nails, except the ring finger; I used the red for that. Then I used the green striper to create little triangles at the tip of the nail to create the leaves of the strawberries. To make the strawberries look more realistic, I used gold glitter as the seed and used top coat to adhere them to the nails. I used a toothpick to pick the glitter up and transfer it to my nails.

★How to REFILL INK Cartridge HP 60, 60 xl, REFILL TUTORIAL INKJET UNIVERSAL REFILL KIT

Printing is something that i find myself doing almost every single day. Whether it be for school, crafts, or even coupons, printing is very convenient. However, printing is not not cheap, as ink cartridges can be very pricy. I used to buy a new cartridge every 2 weeks which added up to a lot of money. (I have an hp deskjet  printer by the way). My senior year of high school, I noticed that I was printing more than usual, and I knew that I had to do something because I was spending too much on ink. I even considered switching to an laser printer since I had heard that their ink lasts so much longer, but then realized that laser printers themselves are very expensive. So I searched for a different alternative.

One day after coming home from school, I was surfing the web when I came across an article about refilling your own printer cartridges. At first, I thought it would be something difficult that would be extremely messy, require advanced technological knowledge as well as expensive tools.  Still, I decided that I would give it a try. I went on Amazon and searched "universal ink refill kit". I read some reviews and finally decided on a kit. It was about $11. I waited about 4 days for delivery and gave ink refilling a try. I just followed directions and voila! I successfully refilled y hp 60 cartridge on my first try. It was surprisingly very fast, easy, and best of all, not messy! So, I decided to do a youtube video to help others realize that they too can refill their own cartridges and save money on ink!
It is actually my first video I ever did on youtube. It's been over a year since I uploaded it, but thought I would share it here on my blog.

Black ink refill:

Color ink refill:

Bottom Line:

Refilling your own cartridge is cheap and easy! A tub of ink will refill many cartridges, so ink refilling is a great deal. I have never had any problems and i have been refilling my hp photo-smart for a while now! The quality of the ink is the same as the original.

In this video I try to show you how to refill your color ink cartridge in minutes. You can use which ever ink you prefer. I am using a universal kit I got from Amazon which works great. (if you have the xl cartridge, double the amounts).

Please be aware that when you refill your ink, the printer will not give you credit (it will say the ink is low/empty) but it will still keep on printing. If this is a concern for you, then I don't recommend you do this. I do it anyway because it is cheap and easy and I have never had any problems with it. when the print begins to come out faded/gray, then you know it is time for refill.

And no, you do not need the clip I used. If you do not have it, just let the refilled cartridge sit facing down for about 15 min so that the sponge absorbs the ink all the way down. The clip is used to make the process faster, but you really do not need it.

If your cartridge ever gets clogged, all you have to do is pour hot water on a bowl (enough to cover 1/3 of the cartridge) and let the cartridge sit on the water for about half an hour. Then, dry it with a paper towel and insert it back to the printer.
