CHRISTMAS MINION NAILS - DESPICABLE ME 2 inspired

Aren't minions just so cute, but they are more adorable with Santa hats on. t's the holiday season and Xmas themed minions are the perfect design to have on your nails this season! I used a total of 7 polishes, striping tape, a black nail polish striped and dotting tools to create these Santa minions. Here's a list of all the items I used in case you want to try these out your self. If you do, please share it with me, I'd love to see! (@glamified92 on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Google plus, or youtube)

List of items I used: (remember, you can always change up the polishes to what you  already have)

Step 1: paint all nails yellow
•Yellow polish - Sally Hansen Xtreme wear Mellow Yellow. I applied this polish as the base color for all my nails. It will represent the minion's skin. It did require 2-3 coats for the color to completely show. You will need for this to dry completely before going to the next step.

Step 2: place two pieces of striping tape in each nail. Place one on the top 1/3 of the nail, and the other one at the bottom 1/3. These will basically serve as stencils for the next step. I got my striping tape from amazon.

Step 3: paint the minion's hat and pants
•Sally Hansen Insta dry Blue Bye- use this blue polish to paint below where you placed the lower striping tape. This will be the minion's pants.
•Sally Hansen hard as nails Tough Love- this is the red polish. Use this to paint above the top striping tape and this will be the mionion's Santa hat.
Remove the striping tapes.
•use the white polish (Sally Hansen insta dry white on) and use a doting tool to paint white dots below the red to finish the hat.

Step 4: Paint the minions eyes and mouth.
•phantom fright 2 way nail art brush and pen in black- I used the striped part to make a horizontal line in the center of the nail. This will be the minions eyeglass strap.
•Sally Hansen Instadry silver sweep- use this with a large sized dotting tool and make a dot in the center where you made the black stripe.
•Sally Hansen Xtreme wear white on- now use a smaller sized doting tool whith this white polish to make a dot over the grey.
•finally use the black polish from the black stripe on a dotting tool and make a small dot over the silver and white silvers. This will be the eye pupil and will complete the eye.

•sinful colors hottie- this is a blue glitter topcoat. I used this over the blue to add shine to the minion's pants.

How to make lasagna without ricotta cheese - Thanksgiving recipe

Thanksgiving is next week, so you should be starting to think of what to make for that special day! While turkey is a staple meal for thanksgiving, not everyone likes it, or you might simply want to eat something else, or in addition to turkey! Lasagna is a great meal you can prepare for this festive day because it is delicious and I'm sure you whole family loves it! Here I'll show you how I make lasagna and what ingredients I use. It's very easy and it does not even require a lot of ingredients. This recepie in particular does not have ricotta cheese, which makes it in my opinion, delicious. You can add it if you wish, but I prefer not to. :p

This is a recipe serves 4-5 people.

Here are the ingredients you'll need (you do not need to use these exact items/brands. This is just what I like and what I had available in my kitchen):
•1 jar of Pasta Sauce - I used classico traditional flavor
•Lasagna noodles -I used market pantry oven ready lasagna. They do say oven ready, but I still like to boil them. I have tried not boiling them, and they come out hard and don't like them that way. I only used half of the box. To prepare, just boil some water in a small pan. Once boiling, add the noodles and they should be ready in about 10 minutes or until they are no longer standing straight and are soft.
•Mozzarella cheese - the one I used is sunny side farms shredded. You can also get a whole block of mozzarella cheese and girt it yourself.
•Part skim milk cheese - I used Casique queso fresco. It comes in a round plastic. Just cut it open and crumble the whole thing and mix with mozzarella shredded cheese.
•1 can of tomato sauce - I used Del monte tomato sauce. This is optional, but I like to add it because I like my lasagna to have a lot of sauce rather than being dry. I once tried using another brand and did not like the taste of it. This is the only ingredient that I would recommend using this brand.
•Italian sausage - the one I used is the Johnsonville Italian sausage hot. They also come in links and also have mild. This is just what I had but you can use any Italian sausage you like. I do not add any seasonings because Italian sausage already has flavor to it, but you can if you want to. If you don't like Italian suave, feel free to use ground beef, but with this you would need to use seasonings!
•you'll also need an oven safe baking dish and of course, an oven...hehe. Since I made a small lasagna, I used my toaster conventional oven which worked just fine :)

Thanksgiving Turkey Nails 2014 *New*

Thanks giving is less than two weeks away!!! Turkey's have been a staple main meal to celebrate this holiday for a long time! Therefore this nail design is inspired by a symbol that represents a day to give thanks; a turkey. Hope you like this design. It is very simple  but looks awesome and is a perfect autumn design!

Here are the items I used:

Revlon Colorstay-Bare Bones (this is the beige nail polish. I used this as the main base color for all of my nails. It is a great light tan color. I did have to apply 2-3 coats for the color to show completely)

Sinful Colors - Coffee (This is the Brown nail polish. I used this to create the body and head of the turkey).

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - white on
This white polish was used with a plotting tool for te turkey eyes.

Kleancolor - Neon Yellow
I used this with the dotting tool to create the turkey's beak. While I don't like this nail polish as a base color because it takes forever to dry, I only like to use it for small detail designs.

Sinful Colors - sugar sugar
This shimmery red polish was used for the turkey's snood. I used the small side of the dotting tool with a bit of this polish and draged it down the side of of the beak. I used this red in particular because it has hints of shimmer, which would help make the snood stand out better then of it were a plain red polish.

Dotting tool
I used this handy tool for the head of the turkey, the eyes, the beak and the snood. If you don't already own one, I highly recommend you get one. They are very useful and versatile! I got mine on Amazon, it came in a pack of 5 with different sizes for about $2 (I can't remember the exact prize but this sounds close enough)

Top coat - Unforgettable Moments
I applied the topcoat after I finished painting the turkey's body. I applied a thick coat so that it would dry less fast. I used it to serve as an adhesive to that the glitter would stick. I got this at a store called Big Lots. It was .80 and I love it!

Yellow, orange and red hexagon Glitter
I used hexagon glitter for the turkey feathers. The colors I used were yellow, then orange and finally red. I basically placed them around the turkey in the order I mentioned using a toothpick to pick them up and the topcoat that I previously applied to make them stick. I got it at dollar tree last year but I'm sure they still sell them. They came in 6 small bottles with different colors. They are very shinny and I did not have a problem with them bleeding their color like some other glitter I've used in the past.

And that's it folks! These are all the items I used for my thanksgiving turkey nails. I hope you like them and give this design a try! If you do please share it with me @glamified92 or #glamified92 on twitter, Instagram, Facebook, google plus or even on youtube!

•Sinful Colors - Coffee : This is the brown nail polish that I used for my thumb, middle and pinky fingers. I also used this color for the antlers in the gold reindeers.

Maybeline Colorshow Nail Tattoos - The Lower East Side Collection

I recently spotted these maybeline Colorshow nail tattoos at my local dollar tree and I had to buy them to try them out. I had never tried nail tattoos before and I was excited to try these. Unfortunately, this was the only design the had but I love it! Application was super easy and I was so happy with how they turned out! And for the price, they are a steal, so I recommend you pick some up if you are still able to find them at your local dollar tree store!

The nail tattoos look like this πŸ‘†
One package has 20 nail tattoos an they come in different sizes to fit all nails. I loved all the designs and how easy they were to apply. These are all the things I used:

•nail tattoos
•base nail polish color. I used a white nail polish (Sally Hansen Xtreme wear white) but you can use any color you want. I would just recommend that it is a light color so that the designs stand out more.
•cotton round
•water
•optional (topcoat)

Step 1: The first thing you need to do is choose a base color and paint all of your nails. I chose a white nail polish. You need to wait until the polish completely drys before preceding to the next step.
Step 2: open the package and choose the designs you like. Tear them out, but don't remove the plastic cover yet. Place the design over your nail to make sure it will fit. I chose this orange bandana looking design, and since it is one of the biggest sized designs, I used it for my thumb.

Step 3: After you've made sure the nail tatto fits your nail, remove the plastic. It will be sticky. Place it over your nail with te colored side facing the nail. Press it to make sure it is completely covering your nail.
Step 4: Now you'll need to dip the cotton round in some water until it is damp and place it over your nail for approximately 30 seconds.

Step 5: Finally, the last step is to remove the paper to reveal the nail tattoo and voila! You will now have an awesome nail desin that looks intricate and time consuming, but was not! Repeat to the rest of the nails and that conopetes your manicure using nail tattoos.

I hope you like this blogpost! Please let me know if you have tried these or other nail tattoos and if you have been able find these at your dollar store!

How to Fix for Mcdonnalds app Glitch not working

Many people have been experiencing problems with getting the mcdonnalds app to work. I recently deleted my mcdonnalds app to make because I needed memory space in my phone. When I downloaded the mcapp again, The app was not working. It would not get past the page where you allow location, and would show a completely blank screen thereafter. Fortunately I was able to find the solution and I am again able to see (and redeem) my mcdonnalds app offers:) here's how I fixed the problem:

Step 1: open SETINGS

Step 2: click on "Notification Center"

Step 3: look for the "McD app" and click on it

Step 4: turn on "alerts" for the alert style and  "show in notification center"

And that's it! Now you'll be able to enjoy the mcdonnalds offerers. Just make sure log in if you already have an account, or create a new one if you don't already have one.
Unfortunately the offers in the mcapp are not available in all areas :(

3 Easy Halloween Nail Designs for short nailsπŸ‘»

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because i get to dress up in cool costumes, but most importantly, I get to wear nail designs. Here are three cute yet easy designs that you can rock for this spooky holiday. I hope you like them, try them on your own nail and share them with me @glanified92 on twitter, Facebook or google+. Here I'll you a detailed list of all the items I used in case you want to know, but you don't need I use these exact items:

Nail design #1: Ghost and Spooky Eyes Nails
List if items used:
For this nail design I started by painting all of my nails black. I then used one reinforcement circle and cut it with scissors so that I could use it a stencil to create the shape of the ghost. I applied the reinforcement stencil on my ring finger only (after the black base was completely dry) and painted it white. I used a dotting tool dipped in black polish to create the eyes and the mouth. For the rest of the nails, I created spooky eyes by using the dotting tool with white polish and making dots for the eyes. I then used a neon green polish to paint some of the eyes so that they would not all be white. Finally, I added the eye pupils by using the smaller side of the dotting tool with black polish. I finished with a fast drying topcoat (I used seche vite but did not add it in the picture).

Nail design #2: Frankenstein Nails
List of items used:
This design was the easiest and fastest to do. I started by painting all of my nails with two coats of a green polish. I then did Frankenstein's head only on my ring finger. I started by first doing the hair using a toothpick and black polish. I then used a black striper to draw a horizontal like below the hair line and smaller vertical lines to create a scar. I used a dotting tool to create two white dots for the eyes and black for the pupils. I then used the striper to create the mouth by painting a small horizontal line. For the rest of the nails I just did a horizontal scar near the nail tip using the black striper.

Nail design #3: Candy Corn Nails
List of items used:
The candy corn nails were the most time consuming but I though they came out very cure and look just like real candy corns. I started by painting all of my nails white. I waited until the white was completely dry and then placed a small strip of tape over the nail covering only a few cm below the cuticle line. I painted the nail orange and removed the tape immediately. Again, I waited for the polish to completely dry before adding the second strip of tape, this time below the orange and painting with yellow polish. For the ring finger, I did several tiny candy corns. I used a fine point sharpie to draw a small triangles for the outline of the candy corns. I then used the smallest side of the dotting tool and fist used yellow and orange to fill in the candy corn.

I hope you liked these designs and let me know which is your favorite!

Uv gel nails

Who doesn't love to get their nails done, especially when it's a French manicure! But getting your nails done at a salon can  add up to a lot of money and it can be a hassle to have to make time to go to the nail salon every time you want to get your nails done. I always thought it was hard, but doing your own nails is actually easy, fast and cheap. I decided to do uv because it is odorless and fast, and got myself very inexpensive uv gel. I got mine from a website called Matheps, but it can easly be found on ebay; it's called Lina uv gel. I also both the matching base and top coat gels along with a cleanser also from the same website but the brand is hong nuo.

Overall I thought this was a great uv gel for the price. It was very easy and simple to apply. (This was my first try and I still need a lot of practice though.) The only downside is that it is not a soak off gel, meaning you cannot remove them by soaking them in acetone. You can only remove them by filing them down. Also I did notice lifting on day 2, and I took them off by day 5 because the lifting was just bothering me. I think maybe with a primer and a better base gel they would last longer

Here's are the things I used to get my uv gel nails done.

*hand sanitizer to use in the beginning to sanitize your hands
*uv lamp
*artificial nail tips
*nail glue (i used nail glue from the dollar store)
*cuticle pusher
*uv gel clear (I used Lina  uv gel)
*uv base gel (Lina uv base gel)
*uv top coat (Lina)
*cleanser or rubbing alcohol to remove tacky layer after curing uv gel in uv lamp
*lint-free wipes
*nail files
*brush to clean dust from filing nail

Here's a video showing how I do my own uv nails at home using these products

Disclaimer- I purchased everything with my own money and was not compensated for using any of these products or mentioning any websites. I just wanted to share with you all what I use and how I do my own nails. I am not a professional, this is just how I do my nails.

FIERCE Gold and Orange TIGER Nails

For this nail design, I wanted to make something with animal print that was fierce!. And this is what I came up with. I hope you like it and try it out yourself!  The main colors are gold with an orange accent nail, and black for stamping.

Here are the actual items I used. You do not need to use these exact items to do these nail design. If you don't have these exact nail polishes, you can work with colors that you already have in your collection :)
Base colors:
•Loreal - boozy Bunch 102
•Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear- Golden-I 485

I painted all nails with gold (Sally Hansen Golden-I) except for the ring finger, which I painted with an orange  polish (Boozy bunch)

Design:
•konad nail stamper and scraper
•bundle monster image plate BM-223 zebra/tiger design
•Kleancolor - black 5
•dotting tools- in my video tutorial I actually used the back of pain brushes
•black acrylic paint

On the nails that have the gold  as the base color, use the bundle monster BM 223 zebra design, and use the black nail polish and scraper to get the design on the stamper, and then stamp it over the nails.
For the accent nails with the orange base color, use the dotting tools or the back of paint brushes to draw a tiger paw. It's eat if you do the paw with a larger zized dottin tool and then using a smaller one for the finger paws.

Clean up any messes around the design using a quip dipped in nail polish remover and finish with a top coat!!

I really hope you like this design!

Strawberry banana coconut S'mores

Happy national s'mores day!!!

One of my favorite parts about going camping is eating those chocolatey and gooey marshmallow campfire toasted s'mores. But why wait until you go camping to indulge on these delicious treats when you can do them any day of the week inside your own home!! These s'mores have a yummy fruity twist to them and will amaze your taste buds once you try them. Here's how to make them:

Ingredients:
•graham crackers
•milk chocolate bars
•marshmallows
•strawberries
•coconut shreds
•banana

Next what you want to do is:

To assemble:
You will need a baking tray where you will be heating the s'mores in the oven. I lined mine with foil paper in case the marshmallows made a mess, but it is really not necessary.

First, place your graham crackers in the backin tray. You will need two half crackers to make 1 s'more. Here, I will be making 2 s'mores, so I have 4 half crackers, but you can make more or less.

Next, you will put chocolate over two of tge grahm crackers. Cut the chocolate as needed so they fit perfectly and cover the entire crackers. In my case, I was able to fit 4 small Hershey's squares and cut one in half to fill one half grahm cracker.

You will then top the chocolate with marshmallows. You can put one of those jumbo sized marshmallows the sell on the stores, several mini marshmellows, or in my case, 2 jetpuffed stacker mellows.

Next we are going to move the other half crackers that do not have the chocolate or marshmellows. On these, put four banana slices on each one.

After that, put strawberry slices. I had large strawberries, and was only able to fit 2 slices per half cracker. But you can put more or less depending on what you can fit.

To finish, top the crackers with strawberries and bananas with shredded coconut.

Melting the goodness 😝
Place your s'mores in a 400 f oven, or toaster oven. For this part, you want to be very careful and keep a close eye the entire time. You do not want to over burn the marshmellows. All you want is for them to develop a soft brown toasted color and for the chocolate to heat up so it melts easly. This can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes.

This is how it should look when ready. Take out of the oven and leet cool a little bit before you stack them together and enjoy them. The marshmellows will be golden and gooey and the chocolate will be soft and melted. The strawberry, banana and coconut just add a delicious twist. You have to try this!

I hope you try this out and like them.
